The Reach Truck provides the ultimate in efficiency, safety and performance. Its ergonomics and low cost of ownership help make it an exceptional choice. These telescoping reach trucks reach up to 30 feet and excel in confined spaces and narrow aisles. These truck's engineered from the ground up for efficiency, durability and reliability, they come with a full line of optional accessories to further increase productivity and safety. You can even add extra arms and forks to maximize reach distance and lift capacity.

Depending on the type of load, a reach truck has either a fixed mast or an adjustable mast. A reach truck can be a hybrid model with the forks extending horizontally or perpendicularly. They are designed to perform multiple tasks at once. Some models have moving masts, allowing the operator to view the loads without straining their backs. Stackers, on the other hand, are hand-operated forklifts. They are used to stack pallets.

When picking pallets from the top beam of a warehouse or storage facility, the fork height must be at least 12 inches above the beam. A reach truck might not be able to lift the pallets above this level, as they lack the mast-tilt mechanism that allows for a vertical lift. This also poses a risk of hitting a sprinkler, as the load backrest is typically 36 inches tall. Therefore, it is important to be aware of the fork height and the height of the pallet when picking it.

When choosing the type of truck that best fits your needs, consider the size and weight of the truck. Reach trucks are designed to operate in narrow aisles. This is because the wheels are positioned lower than the operator's feet, which increases their maneuverability. They can also handle heavier loads, such as pallets, than their counterbalanced counterparts. These trucks can carry up to 4500 pounds.

The width of the aisle is another important consideration. The height of the base legs and aisle width affect the amount of aisle space that a Reach Truck can navigate. A 40'' aisle requires baselegs that are 41 inches apart, which straddles a forty-foot-wide load or pallet. The baselegs are usually permanently attached to the mast, making them difficult to modify.
